Funkuponya
What's the meaning of life? Funkuponya doesn't care unless it involves chasing a stony jazz-funk groove through a thicket of spacey jams and meandering soul-blues. This Raleigh instrumental quartet isn't afraid to disappear into a haze of sativa. It's keyed by Brian Werner's swampy keyboard trill and bassist Leo Kishore's feral pops, with Doug Carter offering jazzy guitar swing and drummer Carl Blackwell holding it together with sturdy snare drum and cymbal snaps.

The Grove
The Grove which is based out of Richmond, Virginia has grown from five exotic seeds planted by improvisation herself and fertilized by the likes of Miles Davis, Jerry Garcia and Sergei Rachmaninoff. Perhaps better described by the way light dances on water than by any particular genre of music. The Grove has developed an intangibly unique sound. With a repertoire of tight knit original compositions as well as an eclectic variety of cover songs sprinkled into every show, The Grove never fails to create a kinetic atmosphere. The Grove has shared the stage with many national acts such as The Wailers, Perpetual Groove, Barefoot Manner, U-Melt, Spam Allstars and many others.

Existor
From Richmond, Va, this high-energy trio finds its inspiration in the roots of new age, progressive jazz and then seamlessly fuses it with various types of electronic music ranging from: drum 'n' bass to trance to down-tempo to house. By doing so, Existor is able to successfully pinpoint a perfect medium between upbeat dance music and laid back lounge grooves. Spiraling chord progressions, pummeling bass lines, and intense dance beats coincide perfectly with their smooth, ambient and original compositions. The members of Existor have known each other since high school but the band didn't form until June of 2005 after a series of long overdue live studio sessions. In less than a year, they have exploded onto the live music scene to provide a unique and original sound at a time where individuality in live musical performance is few and far between.

DJ Ricochet Red
Paul Wilson is a reggae DJ born in Rochester New York now working out of Norfolk and the Virginia beach area. Opening for bands as well as head lining himself, his goal is to soften the venue with a positive feel, and promote a relaxed scene. No better way than reggae to make this happen. Paul started as a reggae drummer who was highly influenced by the Jamaican dj's of the 1970's as well as the dub masters of the same era. Lee Perry, Augustus Pablo, Jackie Mittoo as well as U- Roy and I-Roy is just a start of the sound he will let loose. Ricochet has worked with several companies and promotional events as well as being fortunate enough to assist in opening for Culture before the untimely passing of reggae legend Joseph Hill. Reggae DJ's were once a way to get music to the people first hand and direct in person, there is no better way to spread positive vibrations than with classic sound of Rock steady, dub, Roots, and Dance Hall music.
